Senior Deployment Engineer (Edge / Release Infrastructure)
About the company
GPS fails. In contested airspace it's jammed, spoofed, and gone. When it disappears, most drones are blind. Ours are not. We build the module that lets a drone navigate by what it sees, no satellites required. It's already flying with leading aerospace manufacturers and defense agencies in Europe, in places where nothing else works. We're a small team out of Toulouse doing hard things fast.
About the role
Our navigation software is only as good as the units we actually put in customers' hands. Today we have engineers writing the software that makes it work, but we need someone who owns the path from source code to a deployed, secured, and verified device running in the field.
As our Senior Deployment Engineer you'll own builds, compilation, releases, and deployment across our fleet of Jetson devices. You'll be the bridge between the software team and the physical product, working closely with our Edge engineers and Field Application Engineers to make sure that what leaves the repository becomes a stable unit in the field. When something breaks, you're the person who diagnoses it, feeds it back to the software team, and closes the loop with the customer.
This is not a cloud infrastructure role: your production environment is a fleet of physical devices flying with customers. This is a senior, hands-on role for someone who wants ownership of the release process end to end, in a domain where reliability is not optional.
Key responsibilities
Own the full pipeline from source code in GitHub to a running, secured, and verified unit on Jetson hardware
Build and maintain reproducible build, cross-compilation, dependency management, and packaging workflows for the software stack
Design and operate release and deployment processes, including versioning, staged rollouts, rollback, and over-the-air or field update strategies
Automate device provisioning and lifecycle management, from a fresh Jetson to a production-ready unit
Own the Linux deployment environment on the device, including systemd services, networking, boot processes, storage management, and GPU/driver compatibility
Ensure the security and integrity of deployed software, including code signing, device identity, hardware fingerprinting, license enforcement, and secret management
Build monitoring, diagnostics, and verification tooling for offline or intermittently connected devices, so deployed units can be quickly assessed and issues surfaced early
Diagnose deployment, integration, and field failures, reproduce them internally, and turn them into clear, actionable feedback for the software team
Work closely with Edge Engineers and Field Application Engineers, and communicate directly with customers to understand deployment requirements, constraints, and integration environments
Build and maintain the CI, release, and hardware-in-the-loop infrastructure that lets the engineering team ship confidently
Own customer software update campaigns end to end, from release preparation and compatibility checks to deployment and post-update verification
Minimum qualifications
Master's degree in a relevant field, or an equivalent combination of education and professional experience
At least three years of experience in deployment, DevOps, release engineering, or a closely related area - we care more about the systems you've owned and shipped than the exact number of years
Solid software engineering fundamentals, with proficiency in Python and comfort working in Linux environments
Experience with CI/CD pipelines and build automation (for example GitHub Actions, GitLab CI, or similar)
Experience with containerization (Docker) and version control workflows
A reliability mindset, with attention to security, reproducibility, and verification
Strong communication skills in English, and comfort talking to both engineers and customers
Preferred qualifications
Experience deploying software to embedded or edge devices, ideally NVIDIA Jetson (Orin) or similar ARM-based platforms
Experience with cross-compilation and building for constrained hardware
Familiarity with code signing, secure boot, hardware fingerprinting, or secret management
Exposure to computer vision, robotics, or autonomy software stacks
Experience in defense, aerospace, or another safety-critical or regulated domain
Working knowledge of French, and eligibility to work on defense-related programs in the EU
What you might work on in your first year
Build a reproducible, signed release pipeline that takes source code to a deployable Jetson package
Design safe software update and rollback mechanisms for units deployed with customers
Create hardware-in-the-loop CI using real Jetson Orin devices to validate releases before deployment
Automate provisioning so a fresh Jetson can become a secured, configured, verified unit with minimal manual work
Build fleet diagnostics and support tooling so field issues can be quickly understood, reproduced, and resolved
Logistics
Full-time. On-site in Toulouse, France - on-site presence is expected given the hardware and field nature of the role. Senior individual contributor level. Because we serve defense customers, some work may be subject to export control or clearance requirements depending on the program.
