UI Designer
About Nanogram
Nanogram is a TikTok-style mobile feed where every item is a short, AI-generated browser game - anyone can make one from a prompt.
The role
You'll turn specs into finished mobile screens, fast. We have a design system and a component toolbox; specs come in from product and screens go out to engineers - pixel-perfect Figma with every state (empty, error, offline, loading), built so a Sofia engineer can implement without asking a question. Throughput and cleanliness are the job.
This isn't a design-lead role - you'll work inside the system rather than inventing one, and there's no team under you. It's also not a brand or marketing design role, not UX research, and not game art (the games themselves are generated; this is the app around them). A strong mid-level designer who wants to execute beats a senior who wants to direct.
What you'll do
Turn product specs into pixel-perfect Figma screens, fast.
Design every state of a screen - empty, error, offline, loading - not just the happy path.
Build screens with auto-layout, components and variants that a Sofia engineer can implement without back-and-forth.
Work inside our existing design system and component toolbox.
What you bring
Mobile app design first: iOS/Android consumer apps, ideally social, short-form or gaming.
Fluent in HIG and Material without being religious about either.
Strong mid-level operator, not a design lead - productive from day one inside an existing system.
Fast, clean Figma execution: spec to pixel-perfect screens with all states, using auto-layout, components and variants.
A portfolio showing full flows, not just hero shots.
At least one stretch at a product company, not only agencies.
Roughly 3-5 years of experience.
Nice to have
Motion and micro-interactions (Rive, Lottie, After Effects).
Game UI/HUD work.
Icon and illustration ability.
Comfortable with AI image tools for artwork.
Basic prototyping.
Gaming background.
Logistics
Location: Sofia, in person, from day one. This isn't flexible - you'll sit with core engineering.
Full-time.
Compensation: base + equity.
Portfolio required.
