About TechTree

TechTree is an AI-native recruitment platform. Companies come to us to hire, talent partners source candidates for them, and candidates go through our product. The product team is a handful of engineers.

The role

We are good at backend, data and infrastructure. Where we are thin is the other half of product work: design, the feel of an interface, knowing what to build and what to cut.

The people we optimise for are our delivery owners - the ones running searches for clients. The more clients one delivery owner can handle well, the better the business works. You would sit close to them, watch how they actually work, and build the product that removes their bottlenecks. Expect to be paired with a delivery owner and their clients for stretches at a time, not to take tickets from a backlog.

In practice:

Own features end to end - design, frontend, backend, whatever the problem needs
Spend real time with delivery owners and the ops team, and come back with the problem worth solving
Make our internal tools something people enjoy using instead of tolerate
Push back on ideas, including ours, when the data or the user says otherwise

What we're looking for

At least 3 years of work experience. Somewhere in there, one job you stayed at for a year or more and can point to what you changed.
You ship production code across the stack - TypeScript/React on the front, Python or Node behind it, and you're comfortable with SQL
Depth in design and UX craft, product sense from building your own thing, or a background in marketing or sales
Taste. Show us an interface you designed and built, and tell us what you rejected
You've worked remotely and know how to get answers from people without waiting for a meeting
