Core Product - Backend Engineer (Go)
The opportunity
Nanogram is building a scrollable feed of hypercasual games you play instantly, with no downloads. Type a prompt, get a playable game in seconds, and ship it to the feed. The platform sees millions of gameplays a week and has tens of thousands of creators. It is backed by Drive Capital, LAUNCHub Ventures and Inovo, and we are building the core engineering team in Sofia.
The role
You will be one of the first backend engineers on the team. What you build in your first six months shapes the product for years.
What you'll do
Services: Go services on Fiber powering the game feed, user data and content delivery
Ranking: Recommendation and feed ranking systems built on real behavioural data (view events, retention signals, engagement metrics)
Data: PostgreSQL schema design and query optimisation at scale
Infrastructure: Docker-based deployments on Linux
APIs: API design for iOS and Android clients
Pipelines: Data pipelines that turn raw events into actionable signals
What you bring
3+ years of production Go experience, with services you have shipped and maintained under real traffic
Strong fundamentals in concurrency, networking, SQL and systems thinking
Comfort with Linux and Docker, and ownership of your own deployments
Solid PostgreSQL experience beyond basic CRUD
You care about observability: logging, metrics and tracing are not afterthoughts
Bonus: experience with recommendation systems, data pipelines, or anything ML-adjacent.
Why Nanogram
