Application and Integration Architect
About the role
We're hiring an Application and Integration Architect to support a large EU agency, delivered through a long-term Framework Contract for IT consultancy services. This is a long-term, on-site engagement based in Warsaw, Poland, working within the agency's enterprise IT environment.
The role
As the key architect for enterprise-wide integration, you'll own the design and governance of the agency's systems integration landscape - from API and data-level integration to enterprise service bus solutions, connectors, and integration flows across its platforms.
What you'll do
Act as key architect in the development and evolution of an enterprise-wide integration platform
Architect systems integration at the data and API level
Design enterprise-level integration platform connectors, flows, and service bus solutions
Plan capacity and security for integration platform capabilities
Apply integration patterns, standards, and models across projects
Evaluate and recommend serverless and containerisation platforms across cloud and on-premises infrastructure
Set standards for design, development, quality, and testing
Design and communicate enterprise-wide database architecture (schemas, analytics platform, BI services, data governance)
Elicit needs, analyse requirements, and translate business and user needs into architecture
Map business goals, priorities, components, and system features
Analyse existing systems, applications, and services, and identify solution options
Maintain and track architecture through the systems lifecycle
Estimate and size network infrastructure against system and business requirements
Contribute to systems design, testing, quality assurance, and change management
Prepare system documentation and deliver presentations to stakeholders
Lead development teams and development processes
Select and evaluate technologies; collect and interpret system metrics
Optimise systems for performance, security, and quality
What you bring
Proven experience as key architect on at least one enterprise-wide integration platform deployment
Expert-level knowledge of systems integration at the data and API level
Expert in designing integration platform connectors, flows, and service bus solutions
Strong knowledge of integration platforms such as Tibco or MuleSoft, SOA, databases, application servers, communication middleware, web applications, cloud integration patterns, BI concepts, and the Software Development Lifecycle
Sound knowledge of systems and application design in UML
Familiarity with DevSecOps practices
Proficiency with systems modelling tools such as Sparx Enterprise Architect, ARIS Architect, or similar
Familiarity with enterprise architecture frameworks such as TOGAF, Zachman, or Azure Well-Architected Framework
Sound knowledge of hybrid systems and application integration
Excellent communication, documentation, problem-solving, and leadership skills
Minimum required years of relevant IT and similar-position experience as defined by the tender profile
Minimum English level: as required by the tender (CEFR)
Bonus / nice-to-have
Experience modelling in ArchiMate
Experience with the European Interoperability Framework or other interinstitutional frameworks
Experience applying enterprise architecture styles and patterns

Location: Warsaw, Poland (on-site, per client requirements)
Engagement: Specific Contract under a framework contract, with defined initial duration and renewal options
Personal Security Clearance required (level per tender requirements)
Selection includes interview and, where applicable, written test stages as defined by the framework contract
