About the role

We’re growing our SF engineering hub and hiring a Staff Engineer to be a technical leader here. You’ll own key product areas, set architecture and quality bars, and support growing an elite team. We are in unprecedented times and in startups, this role is truly unbounded as to what you can accomplish.

What you’ll do:
- Lead technical direction: set architecture, reliability, and performance standards; make trade-offs explicit; keep the bar high.
- Build & mentor a team: hire great engineers, level them up, and create a high-trust, high-feedback culture.
- Work directly with our customers: translate messy, high-leverage problems into shippable work; measure outcomes.
- Own critical systems end-to-end.
- Partner across SF & Dublin: tight loops with product/design/GTM; share context and push decisions over the line.

What success looks like:
- 3 months: You’ve shipped one meaningful product to customers, enabled GTM, recorded and ran demos for our VIP customers, troubleshooted key customer issues, shared early observations of strategic investments to be made.
- 6 months: You've operationalized a small product pod in SF, mentoring 1–2 engineers, helping grow revenue in key customer accounts, helping shape our roadmap, improved a key service and raised the bar for how engineering work is done in this organization.
- 12 months: You make people around you force multipliers: faster iteration, happier customers, cleaner architecture, wins we can publish and you know our customer base inside out.

We're looking for a Staff engineer who sees this role as what it could be, not just what it is now. It should feel like signing up for a job and a hobby. Or a job and a triathlon. Or a job and an advanced language course. You’ll shape our technical decisions, own major parts of our product, mentor your teammates, and push yourself in ways you might not expect. It’ll stretch your skills and fill your life in a deeply rewarding way. You’ll write impactful code (full-stack, frontend, backend, AI integrations; it's all on the table), and make critical decisions about architecture, tooling, and product direction. There will be challenging moments, but also regular moments of genuine "wow, we built that" pride.

Our Team & Culture:
We’re a focused group working full-time in our San Francisco and Dublin offices. We’re there five days a week because building something ambitious means collaborating closely, solving problems together, sharing ideas spontaneously, and occasionally challenging each other to padel matches, cold plunges, or karaoke evenings. We're intentional about creating a culture that's mature, supportive, and fun. You'll be joining experienced founders who've done this before, alongside a tight-knit team genuinely excited about building something impactful.
