About the Role

We're an early-stage startup building a product people use every day - and we're looking for a Founding Engineer to help us shape it. This is a full-stack role with a backend lean and a product-builder mindset. You'll work directly with the founders, own technical decisions, and ship things that matter from day one.

This isn't a pure ML role, and it's not a PM role. You're an engineer who builds. You move fast, you care about the product, and you're comfortable making calls with limited information. If you've spent time in big corporate teams waiting for tickets to appear, this probably isn't for you. If you've been the person who figured things out and shipped them anyway, keep reading.

What You'll Do

Build product features end-to-end - backend, frontend, whatever it takes
Take ownership of technical decisions without needing a committee
Support 0-to-1 product development - you'll be here for the messy, exciting early stage
Contribute to ML-related product features when needed (interest counts more than specialisation)
Collaborate closely with the founding team and help define what gets built and how
Move quickly, iterate, and ship in an environment where priorities shift and that's a feature, not a bug

Tech Stack

React, React Native, Node.js, Python. You don't need all of it on day one - you need to learn fast and get things done.

Who You Are

Must-haves:

Strong engineering fundamentals with full-stack experience
You've built products from 0 to 1, not just added features to mature codebases
Startup experience - small team, high ownership, fast iteration
Backend-leaning, but comfortable across the stack
Some ML interest or ML-oriented thinking
You work independently, take initiative, and don't wait for tasks to appear
Comfortable with ambiguity and changing priorities
Able to work hybrid in Warsaw

Nice to have:

Previous founding engineer or early engineer experience
Worked directly with founders or users in a product-shaping capacity
Experience building ML-powered product features
Product sense beyond pure implementation - you think about what to build, not just how

Not required:

A specific domain background
A fixed number of years of experience (3-4 years of strong relevant experience is a rough guide, but quality beats quantity)
Deep ML specialisation
Corporate background

Compensation

~20,000 PLN net + VAT on B2B. Exceptional profiles may be considered above this range.
