About the role
The role of Founders Associate / Public Tender Research Lead involves working directly with the founders to address core challenges related to public tender data across European markets. This position is crucial for understanding, sourcing, and structuring public tender data, and it combines research, strategy, and execution.
Key responsibilities include:
- Researching how public tenders are sourced and distributed in key markets such as Poland, Germany, and the UK.
- Identifying main aggregators, platforms, and data sources.
- Analyzing how companies currently access and win public tenders.
- Building a playbook for understanding and entering new public procurement markets.
- Validating which markets and approaches are scalable and viable.
- Working on sourcing methods, including heuristic approaches and scraping-related insights.
- Addressing legal and regulatory considerations around data collection, such as the legality of scraping.
- Preparing structured insights and recommendations for the technical team.
- Collaborating closely with founders and engineers to translate research into product development.
The role requires a tech-savvy individual with strong analytical and strategic thinking skills, comfortable with ambiguous and unstructured problems, and possessing strong research skills in market, industry, and regulatory areas. The candidate should be able to connect data, business, and product insights and have a startup mindset that is hands-on, proactive, and ownership-driven.
Success in this role is defined by achieving a clear understanding of how public tender markets operate in key countries, identifying and validating data sources and acquisition strategies, creating a playbook for entering and scaling new markets, and establishing a strong foundation for product and engineering teams.
The growth path for this role includes potential advancement to positions such as Chief of Staff, Head of Operations, or Product Manager.
