Retail Industry Principal
About the company
We're redefining how the world's most ambitious real estate companies run their operations. Our mission is to become Europe's leading platform for managing warehouse, logistics, retail, and multi-site commercial real estate portfolios - empowering our clients to protect revenue, boost efficiency, and unlock new value across every aspect of their business.
Our unified CAFM platform already powers the daily operations of over 250 million m² of real estate worldwide, supporting more than 500,000 professionals, and we help manage 100,000+ buildings across 35+ countries following recent strategic acquisitions.
Backed by a leading growth equity investor, we're scaling rapidly and partnering with global real estate leaders across logistics, retail and mixed-use property. As we continue to grow through strategic acquisitions and bold innovation, we stay true to our core values: adaptability, collaboration, and client focus.
The opportunity
We provide property and facilities management technology for organisations operating complex, multi-site estates. Retail is a strategically important market for the business, spanning shopping centres, retail parks, high-street portfolios, supermarkets, hospitality and other distributed consumer environments.
We are seeking an experienced retail property, facilities or operations leader to become our senior market authority for retail and help build a differentiated, commercially successful position in the sector.
The Retail Industry Principal will combine deep industry expertise, executive credibility and market leadership with clear commercial accountability. The role will help us determine where we have the strongest right to win, create access to senior decision-makers, originate strategic opportunities, accelerate priority deals and strengthen our relevance across the retail property and facilities ecosystem.
This is not a conventional sales, pre-sales, product marketing or communications role. It is a senior, market-facing position for someone who understands retail property and operations at practitioner level and can translate that experience, credibility and network into measurable commercial impact.
Success will be measured not simply through market visibility or activity, but through our ability to create qualified pipeline, win strategic customers, expand existing relationships and establish a repeatable position within priority retail segments.
What success looks like
Within the first 12 months, you will have established a clear and credible retail go-to-market strategy, identifying the segments and use cases where we can win disproportionately and building meaningful executive relationships across priority retail accounts.
You will have originated and influenced significant qualified pipeline, contributed demonstrably to both new-logo and expansion revenue, and developed repeatable retail propositions supported by clear customer evidence.
You will also have strengthened our network of retail customers and advocates, while materially increasing our credibility, relevance and market position within the retail property and facilities sector.
What you'll own
Retail market strategy
Define where we have the strongest right to win across retail.
Shape our retail go-to-market strategy, priority segments, use cases and target accounts.
Maintain a strong point of view on the operational, regulatory and technology issues shaping retail estates.
Translate market insight into clear commercial and product priorities.
Executive access and market development
Build trusted relationships with senior leaders across retail property, facilities, operations, asset management and transformation.
Use your network and industry credibility to create access to strategic prospects and originate new opportunities.
Represent the company in executive forums, customer meetings, roundtables and selected industry events.
Build relationships across the wider retail ecosystem, including advisers, FM providers, managing agents and partners.
Strategic accounts and commercial impact
Work with Sales and Customer Success on a focused portfolio of priority retail accounts.
Help uncover strategic priorities, strengthen business cases and improve executive engagement.
Support selected opportunities where your involvement can materially increase our probability of winning.
Identify expansion opportunities across customers, countries, sites, modules and use cases.
Contribute directly to qualified pipeline and revenue growth, without replacing the accountable salesperson.
Customer and market insight
Build a strong community of retail customers, advocates and industry influencers.
Bring structured market insight into Product, Product Marketing and Commercial Strategy.
Identify repeatable customer needs, emerging opportunities and gaps in our proposition.
Help ensure we invest in problems that customers are willing to pay to solve.
Commercial accountability
This is not a conventional quota-carrying role, but it has clear commercial accountability. Performance will be measured against:
qualified pipeline originated and materially influenced;
revenue contribution from strategic retail opportunities;
progression and penetration of priority accounts;
executive relationships created within target organisations;
development of repeatable retail propositions and use cases;
customer advocacy and market influence.
Specific commercial targets will be agreed annually.
What we're looking for
Significant senior experience in retail property, facilities management, estates, operations or asset management.
First-hand understanding of complex, multi-site retail estates.
Strong credibility and an established network with senior retail stakeholders.
Evidence of turning industry relationships and insight into commercial opportunities or strategic outcomes.
Strong commercial judgement and the ability to connect operational challenges to financial value, risk and business outcomes.
Executive presence, strong communication skills and the confidence to challenge senior stakeholders constructively.
The ability to identify what is genuinely scalable and commercially valuable, rather than simply interesting.
Experience in software or technology is helpful but not essential; deep retail credibility and commercial instinct matter more.
Business-fluent English; Polish and/or German language is an advantage.
Package and progression
Competitive base salary, calibrated to experience and location.
Performance-related bonus linked to strategic-account engagement, market influence and measurable commercial contribution.
Direct sponsorship from the CRO and access to the executive leadership team.
Support from Sales, Marketing, Product Marketing, Product and Pre-Sales.
The opportunity to shape our retail market position across Europe.
Progression into broader market leadership, strategic growth or industry-led go-to-market responsibility.
