What we're looking for
- Minimum 8 years of IT experience, including at least 3 years managing structures of 20–30+ specialists
- Documented success in optimizing software development processes using Agile/DevOps methodologies
- Experience overseeing diverse technology stacks and modern software architectures
- Hands-on knowledge in managing cloud infrastructure (Azure) and optimizing costs and licenses
- Experience implementing and maintaining security and compliance standards (ISO, GDPR, Cybersecurity)
- Degree from a university with a technical or exact sciences profile
About the role
About the role
Our client is expanding internationally, and technology is at the centre of that growth. As Head of Technology, you'll own the entire IT function — from architecture and software delivery to security, cloud infrastructure, and vendor relationships. You'll set the direction, build the culture, and make sure every tech decision moves the business forward.
What you'll be responsible for
Technology roadmap — Design and drive an IT strategy aligned to EWL's international expansion, including systems for new markets and international branches.
Business partnership — Translate technology into business outcomes and act as a trusted advisor to the Management Board on key decisions.
Software delivery — Raise engineering throughput via Agile and DevOps practices; manage technical debt strategically and improve the full software development lifecycle.
Cloud & FinOps — Optimise operational costs (OPEX) and centralise licence governance across Azure and the MS365 ecosystem at group scale.
Architecture & AI — Oversee a coherent IT architecture and lead automation and data analytics initiatives powered by AI.
Security & resilience — Maintain ISO-aligned cybersecurity and compliance standards (including GDPR); ensure 24/7 system stability.
Vendor management — Lead professional negotiations and oversee quality across all external technology partners.
People leadership
Build and inspire a 30+ person multidisciplinary team (Dev, Ops, PM), fostering an "expert-to-expert" knowledge-sharing culture. Drive performance through clear, measurable KPIs and data-informed management. Attract key talent and design career paths that secure long-term competency continuity within the organisation.
What we're looking for
8+ years of experience in IT, including at least 3 years managing teams of 20–30+ specialists, ideally in an international environment. You have a proven track record of optimising software delivery using Agile and DevOps methodologies, hands-on experience with modern software architecture, and practical knowledge of Azure cloud governance and FinOps. Experience implementing and maintaining ISO, GDPR, and cybersecurity standards is essential, as are strong negotiation skills with vendors and the ability to influence senior business stakeholders.
A degree in computer science, engineering, or a related technical field is required.
Key competencies: strategic leadership, business fluency, data-driven decision making, and change management.
