Before You Read This

Sequoia published a piece called Services: The New Software. It argues that AI is collapsing the gap between services and software companies - that services firms can now build compounding IP, run at software-like margins, and scale without the traditional headcount pyramid. If that thesis excites you, keep reading. If it doesn't, this role probably isn't for you.

About the Company

An AI transformation firm. They help companies turn AI ambition into working business systems - combining strategic advisory with hands-on and agentic execution, from board-level governance to AI systems deployed in real workflows.

A small team of practitioners augmented by AI agents. Two to three people delivering what a 14-person consulting team used to deliver. Every engagement produces working software and leaves behind reusable IP that makes the next engagement faster.

About the Role

As a Deployment Strategist, you'll own the successful deployment of AI solutions for enterprise customers - turning ambitious AI initiatives into real, measurable outcomes.

You'll lead complex implementations from early scoping through production launch, working closely with customers and internal teams to align on requirements, timelines, and success metrics. You'll ensure that each deployment is well-coordinated, executed on time, and set up to scale.

This is not a coordination role. You'll be the driving force behind each deployment - making sure it lands on time, performs in production, and scales beyond the initial rollout.

What You'll Do

  • Own and lead deployment of the platform and AI agents for enterprise customers

  • Scope requirements, success metrics, and integration plans for pilots and onboardings

  • Coordinate platform implementation, integrations, and agent refinement toward production launches

  • Align Product, Engineering, and customer teams on deliverables, timelines, and SLAs

  • Monitor AI agent performance in production and drive follow-up improvements

  • Identify and develop new AI use cases with customers to expand adoption and impact

  • Track progress, manage risks, and remove blockers throughout the deployment lifecycle

What We Look For

High agency - You don't wait for perfect requirements. You're comfortable creating clarity, proposing direction, and driving decisions. If you need a fully scoped spec before you act, this role will frustrate you.

Client-facing - You can walk into a boardroom, run a discovery session, and present findings without rehearsing. Client environments are political. Stakeholders have agendas. You handle this without creating friction. Dealbreaker. Required.

Technical fluency - Comfortable working with concepts like APIs, data flows, and system integrations. You don't need to be an engineer, but you need to understand what's being built and why.

Velocity - We deliver in weeks what others take quarters to scope. You track progress daily, manage risks proactively, and remove blockers without being asked. If you need long runways before you act, this pace will break you.

Low ego - The best idea wins regardless of source. You take direct feedback, adjust on the fly, and put the outcome above your own contribution.

Requirements:

  • 3+ years of experience in technical problem-solving roles

  • Comfort with APIs, data flows, and system integrations

  • Ability to manage multiple stakeholders and keep complex efforts moving forward

  • Proactive, hands-on mindset and genuine interest in AI-driven products

  • Strong communication, project management, and organisational ability

Nice to Have

  • Engineering background or prior hands-on technical experience

  • Background in management consulting, strategy consulting, or technical consulting - with experience leading problem discovery, structuring ambiguous problems, and working with senior stakeholders

  • Experience in a high-growth or early-stage startup environment

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related technical field

What You'll Get

Exposure you can't buy - Direct access to C-suite executives across industries and board-level conversations at enterprises.

Variety - Different client, different industry, different problem every engagement.

A compound skill set - Stakeholder management, AI deployment, system integration, business case construction. This role builds consulting, execution, and product instincts at the same time.

AI-native environment - AI agents do 40-50% of delivery work. You'll have the tools and the budget to push what's possible.

Founder mentorship - You work directly with the founder on every engagement. You'll see how deals get structured, how client relationships evolve, and how strategy becomes execution.
