Cybersecurity Project Manager
The opportunity
This is an on-site contract role at an EU agency headquarters in Warsaw, leading cybersecurity projects across their full lifecycle. You'll manage complex, security-sensitive programmes in a regulated public-sector environment, working at the intersection of IT security and project delivery.
Contract details: 12-month initial term with up to 3 annual renewals (maximum 48 months total). ~220 normal working-hours days + 10 extended working-hours days per year. On-site delivery: approx. 50% intra-muros / 50% extra-muros. Earliest start: 1 November 2026. Security screening must be initiated within the first 45 days of assignment; RESTREINT UE/EU RESTRICTED clearance required.
What you'll do
Manage cybersecurity projects effectively and efficiently across their complete lifecycle and scope
Establish and manage project controls to ensure milestones are met, products delivered on time, within scope, and aligned to business goals
Assure and control quality of project deliverables
Identify, track, monitor, and communicate project-related issues, scope changes, variances, and contingencies
Liaise with the Project Board and other key stakeholders
Assign and control tasks, authorise work packages, balance priorities and workload, and motivate project team members
Plan and control project product delivery processes
Manage communication within the project and with external stakeholders
Produce project management products (plans, logs, schedules) and define party responsibilities
Prepare and present oral and written technical reports and project presentations
Organise and conduct project meetings
What you bring
Mandatory:
Minimum Level 7 education (master's degree or equivalent in a relevant field)
English language proficiency at B2 (CEFR) or above
At least 10 years of ICT-relevant professional experience
At least 8 years of experience at a similar position
At least 4 certifications, split as follows:
At least 2 from the Cybersecurity domain:
CISSP (Certified Information Systems Security Professional) or equivalent
CISA (Certified Information Systems Auditor) or equivalent
CISM (Certified Information Security Manager) or equivalent
ISO/IEC 27001 Information Security Associate or equivalent
At least 2 from the Project and IT Service Management domain:
PM2 Advanced or equivalent
PRINCE2 Practitioner or equivalent
PMP or equivalent
ITIL Foundation or equivalent
Personal Security Clearance at RESTREINT UE/EU RESTRICTED level (security screening initiated within 45 days of assignment)
Specific experience required:
In-depth familiarity with security policies based on industry standards and best practices
Broad architectural background with full-lifecycle experience delivering IT security solutions
Knowledge and hands-on experience with project methodologies and tools: PM2, PMP, PRINCE2, ServiceNow
Knowledge and experience managing cybersecurity projects in EU classified environments
Experience supporting management of resources, budgets, and priorities for cybersecurity programme/project/portfolios
Knowledge and skills:
Comprehensive knowledge of cybersecurity technologies, controls, and risk management (Defence-in-Depth, Zero-Trust, threat vectors, incident management)
In-depth understanding of legal and ethical aspects of cybersecurity
Proficiency in cybersecurity frameworks, regulations, and compliance (ISO 27001, NIST)
Advanced project management skills including risk and quality management
Strong leadership, team management, and stakeholder communication capabilities
Vendor and procurement management skills
Assessment: Written test (up to 50 points, 60% pass threshold) + interview (up to 150 points, 60% pass threshold). Final evaluation: Technical quality 50% / Price 50%.
Location
Frontex Headquarters, Warsaw, Poland. On-site delivery (approx. 50% intra-muros / 50% extra-muros). Travel only in exceptional cases.
